Lenzing FR® protects against heat stress. Produced from wood, a natural raw material, Lenzing FR® offers protection against heat and flame in a variety of different applications. Around the world Lenzing FR® sets the standard for quality among cellulose fibers with an incorporated FR agent. Only Lenzing FR® is produced using the Lenzing Modal® process. This ensures that the very highest fiber tenacities are obtained and makes it possible to insert the FR agent in a permanent manner.

Lenzing FR® keeps the body dry and cool. Heat stress and heat stroke can be avoided.

CO₂ neutral

Full integration at the Lenzing site in Austria makes it possible to produce the fiber in a CO₂ neutral way due to the generation of excess energy and the recovery of component parts of the wood. Even pulp production at Lenzing is self-sufficient in terms of energy and is an important supplier of energy for the entire operation.

Innovative environmental technology

Lenzing is a pioneer when it comes to wood refineries. The processes needed for this were developed by Lenzing and are not commercially available. Generally the thermal use of wood components is CO₂ neutral. Numerous Lenzing environmental innovations are integrated in the production of Lenzing Modal®. The key part of Edelweiss is the Edelweiss technology which is based on oxygen-based chemistry. Thus Lenzing Modal® is produced in an environmentally responsible way from the pulp through to the fiber.

Up to 95% of the Lenzing Modal® production materials are recovered at Lenzing as a result of innovative environmental processes. This gentle treatment is what makes it possible for the Lenzing Modal® production site to be located in the middle of a tourist area.

Softness is the overriding principle. Soft, softer, the softest. The higher the share of Lenzing Modal®, the finer the fiber and the softer the materials made from it.

Botanic Silk

The low fiber rigidity and cross-section of Lenzing Modal® make the fiber an unparalleled supplier of softness in a completely natural way. Measurements of the softness factor show that Lenzing Modal® is twice as soft as cotton. The finer the fiber, the finer the textile becomes. Thus MicroModal® AIR is the winner when it comes to softness.*

MicroModal® refines luxury cotton

MicroModal® and long staple cotton are made for each other. Due to the mercerizability and high alkali resistance, MicroModal® is ideal for cotton blends. Not even tone in tone dyeing is a problem. The result of this partnership is more sheen, softness and naturalness for textiles.
